Out-of-Autoclave

Process Overview: Out-of-Autoclave
Out-of-Autoclave (OOA) composite manufacturing is a lower-cost alternative to the more traditional high-pressure Autoclave curing process, commonly used by Aerospace and Advanced Composites manufacturers. Out-of-Autoclave uses a vacuum-based process that typically uses a fully impregnated fiber reinforcement or prepreg. The laminate is consolidated with a vacuum bag and cured in an oven with a controlled temperature ramp-up process.
Manufacturers in Aerospace, Transportation and Wind Energy can save time, cost, and energy output by using Out-of-Autoclave processes that require less temperature and pressure than a traditional Autoclave cure. With high-quality surface finish and low resin content, OOA prepreg carbon fiber and other composites offer excellent structural performance.
