Vacuum Infusion Processing (VIP), sometimes referred to as VARTM, is a viable option for constructing cost effective tools capable of 350F service temperatures. In this webinar, we will cover infusion concepts and materials available for making robust elevated temperature tooling with the vacuum infusion process. We will review woven and NCF carbon reinforcements and lay up techniques to achieve stable, vacuum tight molds. We will also cover the resins, process materials, and best practices for constructing elevated temperature capable molds with infusion.

Primary Topics:

  • Requirements for elevated temperature molds
  • Basic infusion concepts
  • Laminate and process materials
  • Best practices
